Conditions for Participating in the Exam
Regular candidates: According to the 2013-2014 syllabus and updated rules, only students enrolled in 2019-2020 can participate. They must have promoted or passed the 2021 Honors 2nd-year exam and progressed to the 3rd year. In addition, it is necessary for them to have finished the 3rd-year course as per the website’s requirements they are eligible.
Irregular Candidates: As per the 2013-2014 syllabus and regulations, students from the 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19 sessions qualify if they passed or promoted the Honors 2nd-year exam and advanced to the 3rd year. However, those who skipped or failed the Honors third-year exams in 2018, 2019, 2020, or 2021 can participate only in their failed courses.
Grade Improvement Candidates: According to the National University’s syllabus and rules, effective from the 2013-2014 academic year, all students from the 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19 academic years must retake any failed courses from the Honors third-year examination. This applies to those who progressed to the fourth year but received an “F” grade or missed any papers. They must retake these as grade improvement candidates. Students who received a “C” or “D” grade in one or two courses in the 2021 Honors third-year exam can retake those courses in the 2022 exam for improvement. They may only retake up to two courses. If they skip or fail to improve their grades, the original grade stays.
Special Chance for 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 Students: Students from the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 academic years who received an “F” grade in any course can register for the 2022 Honors third-year examination. They need to pay a total fee of Tk. 5,000 (Five thousand). Registration renewal is unnecessary for them. However, students who don’t complete the form, skip, or miss the exam won’t allow to participate under any circumstances.
Minimum Qualification for Promoted from 3rd Year to 4th Year
To be promoted, students must appear in all exams. They need a minimum grade of D in at least four theory courses. Also, they must pass all practical courses.
If a student is absent in one course but scores, grade D or above in others, they get conditional promotion. Such students must attend the absent course in the 2022 Honors third-year exam.
Students absent in more than one course or scoring an F grade along with an absence in one course will not be promoted. Their result will be marked as “Not promoted.”
Promoted or not, students must retake exams for courses with an F grade or absences. They can also attempt a grade improvement test in up to two courses with a C or D grade next year.
According to Revised Examination Regulations, candidates must upgrade F grades to D or higher within seven academic years. If an F grade is upgraded, grade improvement isn’t allowed. Regardless of the promotion result, students with F grades cannot achieve more than a B+.
There’s no opportunity for gradual improvement in in-course and practical tests.
Things to do for candidates
The first step is to find the correct subject code on the National University syllabus at http: //ems.nu.ac.bd/student-login. Next, candidates must download the application form. Then, submit this form to the Head of the concerned Department along with the required fee. Ensure the subject code entry is correct in the declaration form. Do this within the college’s deadline and sign the form. Remember, the university is not responsible for incorrect subject code entries.
If you find any mistakes in the application form, cancel it through college authority. After that, download the application form again.

How to Deposit Fees
The payment of fees for the 2022 Honors 3rd Year (Regular, Irregular, and Grade Improvement) is required by candidates who are in the 3rd Year (Regular, Irregular, and Grade Improvement). First, visit the university website at https://nu.ac.bd. Then, go to the Service menu. Next, click on Sonali Seba and enter the college code. After that, download the specified Payslip.
Submit this Payslip to any Sonali Bank branch with the required fee. The total amount will be written on the Payslip, along with the savings account number. Collect the deposit receipt before the deadline. Submit the print copy to your nearest Sonali Bank branch. No objections will accept after this date.
The Sonali Seba link will stay active until the Payslip collection deadline. You cannot download the Payslip before or after the scheduled time. Additionally, the authorities won’t be responsible for complications if you deposit money through any method other than Sonali Seba.
